So I get to work with the most amazing bass player. Ron Suffredini and I met years ago at the Baked Potato, this little hole in the wall jazz house in LA at a songwriters night where he played a few of my pieces. I am in love with him and his skills, and have been lucky that he has been so willing to play with me when I call, and record on my tracks when I call. He has a regular show at 661 Wine Bar in Valencia. I was meeting David Rosa (producer and guitarist) at the 661 wine bar so we could chat about an upcoming project, and we were lucky to catch Ron during this brilliant moment. I also just happened to have my video camera in the car as well…..so it was meant to be. You’ll notice in this video that Ron is a little sheepish about this song because he has never played it with these two guys…so they are going in totally cold. At the beginning of the video he starts spitting out chord progressions…I don’t even think the guitar player has a chart. This is musicianship at it’s finest…check out how he does!
Thank you for such kind words, you are an absolute doll, Ms. Ashton Zyer. You are hired as head of my PR firm. Tenured. Forever.
